Hartwick College introduced that it will be renaming its annual golfing event as The Basic Nick Lambros Golfing Tournament in honor of one of the school’s most distinguished alumni.
The tournament will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Oneonta Nation Club with a 1 p.m. shotgun start in accordance to a Wednesday media release from the college’s athletic division.
“As an avid golfer and supporter of all issues Hartwick, we see this as a fitting way to honor a man or woman who has impacted Hartwick College or university and the Athletic Office in this sort of meaningful approaches,” Hartwick Athletic Director John Czarnecki said in the release. “This is an fantastic option to develop a long-standing tribute to honor Nick’s achievements and spirit he brings with anything he does.”
Lambros is a co-founder of the celebration, and its attendance commonly attracts heavily from his considerable community of previous players, classmates, and mates. Hartwick athletics employees, coaches, and athletes will be on hand to support coordinate the occasion and mingle with attendees.
